History of Vishal Sweet Mart
In Uttar Karanataka there is a lace called Amingad that belongs to Hungund taluk, & Bagalkot District is famous for sweets like Karadantu & Ladaki Ladu both are prepared with jaggery & sugar. The sweets are famous for so many years.
In the year 1937, our forefather Sri Virupakshayya, brother of Shri.Ma.Ni. Pra Shivappayya from Hiretamadaddi which belongs to muddebihal taluka & Bijapur district, had transferred his property to his devotees. Finally, in 1948 he moved to Amingad.
In those days he had prepared sweets like karadantu & Ladaki Ladu, the Britishers were tasted sweets & appreciated them. The ancestors are Sri Muragayya Viupakhayya Antin(Vastrad) was the main person preparing the sweets.
Since 1954 to 1960 the shop is there is Amingad Busstop. In the above period, the Late Prime Minister of Independent India Shri Lalabahaddur Shastri visited the shop & tasted the sweets & appreciated them.
From 1995 to till today, the 5th person Shivayya Shanmukhayya Vastrad has been preparing the sweets. The sweets have been exhibited in state & national level programs like Krishi Mela, Akhila Bharat Sahitya Sammelana, held in Tumkur, Belgaum, Bidar Shivamoga, Udupi, Gadag & so on. Every Year he takes participation in the fair of Banashankari Devi at Badami in North Karnataka
